Bose Corporation was founded in 1964 by Dr. Amar G. Bose, then a professor of electrical engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Bose built its reputation creating high-performing audio products, but is now growing its business beyond these boundaries, leveraging the company's intellectual assets in much broader ways. Bose has over 9,000 employees working at a number of facilities both here and abroad. Bose has operations in the United States, Europe, Canada, Australia, Asia and South America. There are eight manufacturing facilities and 16 International subsidiaries. Bose also has over 100 retail stores around the country.
